🌤️ If the sun comes out, I might too

Dear friend,

I blinked, and now we’re talking about the 8th to 10th of August? Time is doing whatever it wants.

Also, this weather? Raining every day smh. I know it’s rainy season, but the weather has been so... I look fine on the outside, but deep down, I just want to be on the beach, baking in the sun, ideally half-naked with a drink in hand.

I took a little party break to rest and reset. Did you miss me? This weekend is my official back outside moment, and these are the events I’m thinking of checking out. If you’re stepping out too, maybe I’ll see you there 👀

Friday

1. Wind Away Treat
📍 Tarkwa Bay
10:00 am
🎟️ ₦70,000
If Lagos is stressing you out and you need a proper reset, this one’s for you. A full-day getaway to Takwa Bay with food, drinks, vibes, and no mainland noise. You’ll come back soft or at least very well-fed.

2. Cloud 90 x Underground
📍 Mantra, 2/4 Adeola Odeku, VI
10:00 pm
🎟️ ₦7,120
This party is for the music heads and low-key party people. Wear something you can actually dance in.

3. Gbedu Central
📍 Emcel Garden, Orchid, Lekki

2:00 pm
🎟️ ₦5,000
A day party! Outside but not too deep outside. Come early, dance while the sun’s still up, grab grilled meat and cold drinks, then decide if you’re heading home or doing afters.

4. After Dark
📍 234Lofts Beach Resort, Oba Elegushi Beach Rd, Lekki Phase 1
10:00 pm
🎟️ ₦10,000
Night beach energy: lights, music, breeze, and bodies moving in slow motion. If you’ve been itching to dance with someone under the stars, this is the memo.

5. 234 Sundown on Summer
📍 Engine Room Lagos, Plot 52a, Block 1, Omorinre Johnson Street, Lekki
10:00 pm
🎟️ ₦11,000
Sleek, stylish, and probably filled with people you follow on IG. Good music, good drinks, and a strong chance of bumping into someone you once liked.

SATURDAY

6.  Farabale: Into The Night
📍 The Vault Social House, 9A Oko Awo Street, VI
5:00 pm
🎟️ ₦7,500
Just enough groove to take you from “I’m just here to chill” to “how did it get to midnight?” If you’ve been craving a low-effort, high-vibe night out, this is the one.

7.  ÀRÀ by ÀÁDÙN: Pilates & Presence
📍 Nature’s Nook, Akinyemi Avenue, Lekki
9:00 am
🎟️ ₦32,500
A full-body reset with movement, breathwork, and intention. Come for the stretches and maybe network with the kind of people who actually sleep 8 hours a night. Don’t think too hard, your body needs this.

8.  Puff & Paint
📍 Rango Rooftop Lounge, 26 Prince Adelowo Adedeji Street, Lekki Phase 1
4:00 pm
🎟️ ₦25,000
Roll, sip, and let your creative side play. Whether you paint like a pro or draw like a toddler, the vibes will carry you. Bonus points if you’re trying to impress a date.

9. Cake Picnic Festival
📍 1B Omorinre Johnson, Lekki Phase 1
12:00 pm
🎟️ ₦7,000
An afternoon of sunshine (fingers crossed), cake, and lounging with strangers who also didn’t want to party too hard. Come hungry and dress like your crush might be there.

SUNDAY

10. Pope’s Game Fest: Game On Lagos
📍 Gameland Lagos, 14 Providence Street, off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1
10:00 AM
🎟️ ₦7,000
Board games, card games, group games, whatever your inner child wants, it’s here. You’ll laugh, compete, maybe flirt during Scrabble, and forget Monday’s even a thing.

11. Rehash: Eko Summer
📍 Ascenda Rooftop, 316 Akin Ogunlewe Street, VI
12:00 PM
🎟️ ₦6,040
Rooftop, afternoon breeze, easy music. Just enough energy to close the weekend without doing too much. Order a cocktail, stay till sunset.

Not In Lagos? Check These Out

Friday

1. District 69: Sector III
📍 The Glass House – Vibes by Ann, 23 Atabara Street, Wuse 2 (Abuja)
9:00 pm
🎟️ ₦10,900
They say you shouldn’t throw stones when you live in a glass house. In this house, people will be throwing and catching whines instead. This party promises energy, performance, and people who have come to be seen.

Saturday

2. Kilishi Festival
📍 Tobix Recreational Park & Garden, Abuja
12:00 PM
🎟️ ₦3,000
If you’re in Abuja and love kilishi, this is basically your Super Bowl. It’s giving pepper, meat, and open-air chilling. No stress, just food and good vibes with people who came hungry.

If you’re dipping your toe back into the mix like me, pick what fits your mood (and budget). No pressure to do it all, sometimes one good plan is enough.

Have fun,
H.
