Like This Writer, The Weekend’s Is Going All Out
Hi there,
Like this writer, the long weekend’s finally here and it’s doing it loud.
You’ve been hearing from “Israel” all this time, but behind the scenes, it’s Southpaw calling the shots. The outsider. The one who’s been piecing these vibes together every week. And much like me, the weekend is done playing it safe.
The energy outside this weekend is all about getting expressive, electric, and a little extra in all the best ways. Ojude Oba is transforming Ijebuland into a living runway. Lasgidi Block Party will be packing heat with bass drops. Think silent discos, games, art, and even a matchmaking pitch night (yes, Love Tank is here).
Me? I’ll be house-hopping on Friday (the Sallah meat won’t eat itself), popping out Saturday, and coasting through Sunday with just enough energy to wrap it up.
This is one of those weekends you don’t tiptoe through. You ride it full force.

That’s the lineup.
To think I almost missed Sporting Lagos’ final game of the season and that thoroughly enjoyable 4–0 thumping. With the energy and the crowd, that match was the final weekend reset I didn’t know I needed.
So wherever you go, go fully. Let your inner softie, raver, romantic—or all three—have their moment.
Happy Eid-Ul-Adha.
Enjoy Your Weekend,
Southpaw
