Poolside, Dance Floor, or Chill? Take Your Pick

Hi there,

Welcome to April! It’s been both a good and long week. Monday and Tuesday gave us a sweet, sweet public holiday reset, but Wednesday hit like a sneak attack Monday. And let’s not even talk about yesterday—the rain and traffic? Absolutely disrespectful. At least tomorrow is Friday, and we can finally call it a week and keep it pushing.

If you’re braving the city this weekend, just a heads-up; there are road closures and diversions on the island, so plan accordingly. Personally, I’ll be keeping my weekend chills close by, and this free paint show in Yaba is looking like the perfect low-key vibe.

Friday

1. AKO 8
A night where the music slaps, the energy is electric, and there’s no such thing as “just one drink.” If you like your weekends loud, lit, and legendary, this is your spot.

2. House Party at Grey Matter
This is the kind of house party where strangers turn into best friends, the playlist never misses, and the drinks keep flowing.

3. The Splash Pool Party
Sun, music, and an open pool? Say less. Come through for cocktails, high-energy beats, and a hope that at least one person is going to jump into the water fully clothed.

SATURDAY

4. Palette and Pals
Ever dreamed of being an artist but never made it past doodling in your notebook? Now’s your chance. A laid-back painting session where creativity flows as freely as the laughter. No talent required, just good vibes.

5. Throne Room Play
Drama, intrigue, and the kind of acting that makes you forget you’re not actually part of the story. If you love high-stakes storytelling and gripping performances, this is a must-watch.

6.  An Evening with Chef Okan
If your love language is fine dining, prepare to be wooed. A luxurious multi-course meal crafted by one of the best in the business, designed to make your taste buds feel special.

7.  Weekend Beach Camp
Two days of bonfires, ocean breezes, and pure relaxation. If you need a break from city life, this is your escape. Bonus: You’ll actually wake up to the sound of real waves instead of your phone alarm.

SUNDAY

8.  Afrique Travel Industry Conference & Awards
If you love travel or dream of making money from it, this is the room you need to be in. Expect big industry names, networking opportunities, and conversations that might just lead to your next big adventure.

9. Sunday Roast Club
Think comfort food, good conversation, and zero stress. Perfect for ending your weekend on a high note—no loud music, just good vibes and great bites.

10. Swoosh Sundays: Pottery Hangout
Get your hands dirty in the best way possible—by molding clay into something cool. Whether you’re making a masterpiece or a wonky mug, you’ll have fun either way.

Not In Lagos? Check These Out

Friday

1. High Voltage Doings with RNB 3.0: “Back 2 Origin”
If ‘90s and 2000s R&B made you believe in love (or at least solid heartbreak anthems), then this is where you need to be.

2. RCK CTY BLCK PARTY: Retro Miliki
Ever wish you could party like Fela in the ‘70s? This is your chance. Afrobeat rhythms, vintage fashion, and that old-school Lagos groove, all in one high-energy night.

3. Karaoke & Games Jam Abuja
The perfect mix of bad singing, competitive gaming, and shameless fun. Whether you’re belting out heartbreak ballads or screaming over a game of charades, the only rule is: go all in.

4. Luxe and Lawless
Dress to impress, but don’t be afraid to let loose. This is where class and wild energy collide in the best way.

That’s the lineup for this weekend! If you spot me out at that Yaba paint show, mind your business or say hi, your choice. Either way, have a good one and follow us on Instagram!

Love,
H.
